Neil Perry is venturing to Brisbane

CELEBRITY chef Neil Perry has today tipped he will bring his new yet-to-be-named Cantonese concept restaurant to Brisbane.

Perry confirmed earlier this week he would be shutting down his haute cuisine venture Eleven Bridge in Sydney and replacing it with a high-end Chinese offering under the umbrella of the recently formed Rockpool Dining Group.

Now he’s revealed plans to roll out the same restaurant in Queensland.

Perry said he wanted to showcase Cantonese cuisine that used either free-range or premium-grade meat and top quality produce, with an ethical focus.

While the venue won’t open until at least next year, Rockpool Dining Group CEO Thomas Pash said the company was just two weeks away from locking in a Brisbane CBD site for their signature Rockpool Bar & Grill and Spice Temple restaurants.

The company is choosing between either the new W Brisbane hotel site on George St, due for completion in December, or a site just down the road, with both restaurants scheduled to open in January next year.
