Australian cocktails are among the most Instagrammable in the world

Australian cocktails are among the most Instagrammable in the world

Whether you like your cocktails shaken or stirred, it's a truth universally acknowledged that a drink tastes better when it also makes a good photo.

This is perhaps one of the reasons why Time Out have taken it upon themselves to travel the globe in search of the world's most Instagrammable drinks.

From a cocktail inspired by cereal in Chicago to a 'Swim and Tonic' with a fake goldfish bobbing around in a bag and even a deconstructed Bloody Mary, FEMAIL rounds up some of the most photo-ready beverages in the business.

The best news? You can get your hands on two of the top 15 here in Australia.

The first Antipodean entry - The Jurassic Juice from Lobo Plantation in Sydney - comes in at number 12.

The arty drink consists of ratu spiced rum, jurassic juice, pine nut syrup and lime.

The pièce de résistance in the Jurassic Juice comes in the form of a tiny little dinosaur garnish, planted at the top of the drink - it might not be edible, but it's very cute.

The second Australian entry - the Espresso Zabaione - comes from Eau De Vie in Melbourne.

'This is one fancy espresso cocktail,' the bar writes on their website.

Fusing either vodka, rum or whisky with coffee and maple syrup, the drink is then layered with vanilla and saffron mousse on the top.

This is then chilled with liquid nitrogen meaning that the drink freezes over before it's cracked open and smoky dry ice unfurls.

Elsewhere on the list are entries from all sorts of exotic locations, including Hong Kong, Cape Town and Mexico.
